This research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of using the mathematical software GeoGebra in teaching linear and affine functions to eighth-grade students at the Roque de los Ríos Valle Departmental Educational Institution in Reten, Magdalena. It was based on the theories of Churches (2009), Bloom's Taxonomy (2010), Allcca (2018), Alvarez (2016), and others. The research employed a quantitative, explanatory approach with a pre-experimental design using a single experimental group with pre- and post-tests. The population consisted of 298 eighth-grade students at the aforementioned educational institution; the sample comprised 34 students, selected using simple random sampling. A 24-item knowledge test, validated by three experts, was administered, and its reliability was measured using the Kuder-Richardson KR-20. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis, supported by SPSS software. The results demonstrated that the students in the experimental group achieved a higher level of understanding of linear and affine functions, showing that the application of the GeoGebra
mathematical software contributes to strengthening fundamental learning elements such as remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating concepts. Therefore, the incorporation of GeoGebra software into the learning of other mathematical concepts included in the Basic Learning Standards (DBA) for eighth grade is suggested.
