The objective of this study is to compare the impact of user-generated content (UGC) versus influencer direct advertising (IGC) on purchase intention. The research utilizes a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional comparative design. The sample consisted of men and women aged 18 to 35 in Latin America, selected through non-probability convenience sampling. A self-administered digital survey on a five-point Likert scale was applied to evaluate the dimensions of authenticity, trust, perceived usefulness, and engagement. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 and a bootstrap resampling procedure of n=5,000 replicas. Results show that in the IGC model, purchase intention ($R^2$ = 72.8%) is structurally determined by trust and engagement. In contrast, in the UGC model, engagement ($\beta$ = 0.543, p < 0.001) emerges as the only significant direct predictor. It is concluded that influencer marketing requires persuasion based on formalized credibility, whereas the success of UGC lies in the interactive engagement and resonance of short-form videos.
